If you want to catch more carp, regardless of your style of fishing, you need somebody who is versatile and willing to pass on their own knowledge. Robbie Marsh is exactly that person and in the time I have known him he has excelled in all areas, be it smashing ’em up or targeting bigger fish. He’s definitely the man to help you up your catch rate no matter where or how you fish.

I first met Rob long before he was a consultant for us and was immediately impressed by both his natural angling ability and by his work rate to get those extra takes that put him above the rest.
Rob is a naturally gifted carp angler but also one that never stops trying different things to make it happen – accounting for his impressive record in carp matches both in the U.K. and abroad. He is a master of many methods used in modern carp fishing from spodding or method blasting to maggot fishing to extreme range.
Rob has been involved with Free Spirit as a consultant for some time now and his enthusiasm, single minded approach and professionalism make him easy to work with and there is always something that even the most experienced carp angler can learn from him.

Rob Marsh is one of the best and most experienced carp anglers I know. He's traveled the world in search of carp, and anyone taking out a coaching lesson with him won't fail to learn something from his vast knowledge. It will be money well spent, that's for certain!
Simon Crow, Editorial director of Carp-Talk magazine
What can I say about the angling ability of Rob Marsh... sheer magic are two words that come to mind. I've known and fished with Rob for many years, not just in the UK but also on the busy match circuit abroad.
He's just one of those carp anglers that you'd rather have in your team, than be fishing against! His record on the UK circuit on both day ticket and private waters is second to none and he always seems to be amongst the big fish.
Alongside his long term match-fishing partner Lee Meritt they have become masters of many methods that consistently keep them out in front of the pack. Whether you're a beginner to the sport or an experienced carp angler you can't fail to learn from Rob Marsh, he's very much in tune with every new method in carp fishing and his teaching skills will up your game considerably.
A word of warning... if you're considering a day out with Rob make sure you've had plenty of rest before you go, the work rate of this carp catching machine has to be seen to be appreciated, but believe me, you'll be a far better carp angler for the experience!

I am the Managing Director of Angling Publications, a successful company which publishes carp magazines and books. I have known Rob Marsh for a great many years and know him to be a highly competent and extremely successful carp angler. He is trustworthy and authoritative and will make an ideal angling instructor in terms of getting ideas across, maintaining discipline and retaining the attention of his pupils.

Rob has been associated with myself and Mainline for over 15 years and in this time he has become a close friend. Rob has become a very successful match angler so much so I have put him in charge of running the entire BCAC Mainline teams, and he has been part of the winning Mainline team 3 times, an achievement in itself.
I have been very impressed by Rob’s attention to detail when preparing rigs, tackle and bait before and during the matches that he has fished. He is always trying new things and works hard to get a bite when the going gets tough and fish are hard to come by, and the countless practice sessions before the match is what sets Rob’s dedication for the sport a cut above the rest.
I can honestly say Rob has used every bait that we have ever produced from the early grange bait to the present cell bait and still has time to test our new products. Rob has regularly appeared in the angling press and has been top rod on many of the venues he has fished catching fish in England to over 50lb.
I myself have learnt a thing or two from Rob over the years and I am sure you will too.
Keep um tight
Kevin Knight, Mainline baits
Over the course of the last 11 years I have seen a lot of anglers coming through the ranks at the British Carp Angling Championships. Every now and again one of those anglers stands out and Marshy has been one of them. I had met him previously at big fish water Lake Raduta in Romania when he proceeded to empty the lake and catch a ridiculous number of fish in comparison with everyone else there. That was not a one off as his results in the BCAC and his own fishing at a variety of venues regularly prove. He is, without any shadow of doubt, a very capable and adaptable angler that can catch fish, in numbers, in any situation. That is a great quality in any angler and now the world can rejoice that he has decided to pass those skills on through his own angling academy.
As a bloke he’s a great laugh and you will not fail to enjoy your time with him. As an angler he is gifted and you will not fail to learn from him.
